Another win for civil rights

The Connecticut Supreme Court has overturned a state wide ban against gay marriage.  Connecticut is the third state, after California and Massachusetts, in which same-sex marriage is now legal.  Because this issue is a state Constitutional issue, it cannot be appealed to the Federal Supreme Court.  Another victory for civil rights.  Right on.

Hypocrisy truly knows no bounds

So on Wednesday, the Senate heard and referred to the Judiciary Committee the ‘Marriage Protection Amendment,’ (SJ 43) the text of which reads:
Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or [...]
