I’m almost at a loss for words as I write what you’ve probably heard by now, that Tim Russert, moderator of NBC’s “Meet The Press” and NBC News’ Washington Bureau Chief, died today while on the job. His loss leaves an enormous hole in the world of political reporting. Russert was the best: universally respected and always on his game. He seemed to know everyone and everything and a seat at his table was both to be cherished and feared. He knew the questions to ask and how to ask them.
I cannot be sadder for his family and those who are close to him and love him. For those of us to whom he meant honesty, truth, and light in this world of politics, the world just got a little darker.
