Lehman Brothers has declared bankruptcy, B of A has taken over Merrill Lynch and the Dow is tumbling (down 287.01 as I write this). We had a dismal jobs report in August, showing the unemployment rate at 6.1%, the highest level since September, 2003. That’s almost 5 years, folks. And what does John McCain have to say about it? He says that, “the fundamentals of our economy are strong.” Seriously. He said that. Today. In Florida. He said that today. Today. Today. Today …. He is astounding.
Update: As of closing, the Dow had fallen 504.48.
