It’s sad, really

I’m watching MSNBC and they’re showing film from a rally today where McCain was painted into the box of having to disavow his own campaign tactics and vouch for Barack Obama’s honor.  The desperation of his situation was written on his face. 

I take no joy in this.  There was a time when I might have voted for McCain, save his stance on Roe v. Wade.  For many years, I have held in him in the highest esteem.  This election, however, has severely eroded that.  Perhaps today, he showed us that he does have some dignity left.  We shall see.

    No, Ash, I don’t think so. His request to the audience that they demonstrate some basic human decency is just as poll-driven as his stoking of their anger in the first place.

    McCain has no soul any more, if he ever did. People like us have given him second chance after second chance over the last year. Enough.
